Frost is a 6-year old male who was turned in by his owner because he became aggressive with the
sheep.
He was taken to the vet where he was examined and a "mass" was detected. He apparently had
torsion of the spleen - a condition uncommon in Pyrs, but seen in other large breeds. He must
have been in considerable pain - no wonder he became aggressive with his sheep! Since the spleen
is not essential to life (its duties can be assumed by other organs) his spleen was removed and he has made a full and healthy recovery.
His owner, Ellen, writes "Frost and I have a terrific life together. We love each other. He's very confident now and
for months and months his tail has been curled up high and proud up over his back.
"We've babysat llamas and horses and Frost Bunny does a great job. True to his Pyrenees
heritage, he doesn't bother anybody."
May 2006 - Ellen sent this picture with Frost sharing time with a horse named "Dummy".
