Jacque

Jacque

Jacques was rescued December 2000. He had been abandoned and abused. He was picked up in Reno eating out of garbage cans by animal control. GPRNC was called and he was picked up. Judy Bolander adopted Jacques. There was chemistry at their first meeting.

Jacques was in terrible shape. He weighed only 90 pounds, had matted fur, and was very filthy. His demeanor was one of extreme nervousness and lack of trust.

Now, April 2002, Jacques is a certified therapy dog. He is very popular

Judy and Jacques volunteer at the Shiner’s Hospital, U.C. Davis Medical Center, and Snowline Hospice and participates in many community photo shoots and activities.

At this year’s fun match, hosted by Sierra Pacific Great Pyrenees Club, Jacques competed and won first in his class and went on to win Second in the Working Group and Best of Breed. He also received his AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.

In May of this year, Jacques will be attending the GPCA Specialty in Woodland to compete in the obedience trials.

Jacques is a much loved and very important part of our family. Rescued dogs are very fragile and should be treated with love and understanding. Jacques is the perfect example of what happens when you love and respect and care for your dog. It is most important for rescued dogs to become a part of the family and not just a “thing” someone wanted at the moment.

Jacques is very happy and smiles all of the time now. He is very spoiled.
Because Jacques is loved he loves back.
