Stein

Stein

Stein was rescued out of the shelter in Salinas. At first we didn't know if Stein was just dirty or a crossbred. It became evident after giving him a bath that the orange coat he was sporting was natural...and no matter how much soap and whitener we used he was not going to get "clean".

We figure that Stein is a cross between a Golden Retreiver and a Great Pyrenees. We also figured out quite quickly that he does not like motorcycles.

His foster-dad quickly fell in love with this lively pup....and at the 4th of July parade in Aptos brought him to participate with great pride and joy.

Stein handled the crowd like a pro. And he won the heart of his future 'mom'. We met Kerry at the parade and after following us to the end (so Stein could get some much needed water) Kerry proceeded to talk about him, bring her mother over to meet him, and hug and kiss all over him. We exchanged information and Kerry promised to fill out the application for adoption "the minute she got home". And she did!

After completing the home inspection and some scheduling changes we finally got Stein to his new home. His foster-dad already missing him.....

Stein is now living the life of a spoiled dog. The end of Kerry's bed is his "spot"...he has his own bed (but why lay there when you can get away with sleeping on the real bed!), his own red and white collar, matching leash, and food and water dishes.

Stein is in the right place ....and loved by all that see him.
