Xena

Xena and Erica Xena was found crossing a busy freeway intersection in central Cal. She was soaked to the skin from heavy rains, had the remains of a too small lead tied around her neck. A good Samaritan helped our central Cal. rep (who happened to be at the right intersection at the right time) herd Xena into the truck.
Xena no longer has to worry about being homeless, as she has gone to live with Erica and Greg in Merced.
A few weeks later, Erica writes: I am happy to say that Xena is thriving. She is very quickly learning that goats are for loving and not chasing. She is figuring this out much faster than we ever hoped she could. She is enjoying her "puppy-time" romp in the yard every afternoon. She seems to have breathed new life into our old dog- he loves to play with her! She is also learning to walk on a leash without eating it, and almost never puts her paws up on us anymore (Yay!). She has a particular soft spot for our 7 month old son, Tristan. She tenderly caresses his head and face with the most gentle nose-kisses. He just smiles at her. Xena even chooses kissing Tristan over playing with our other dog. I can tell that the two of them will be the best of friends in the years to come. Xena & baby
This is of our dog Luigi and my friend's lab puppy, Scout, competing for Xena's attention during puppy-time in the yard. Xena & dogs
